Ingenious Play

Chris Pettit is the fund head of Ingenious Play, an Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) that aims to achieve high investment returns for investors by investing in a carefully selected portfolio of ambitious early-stage companies developing and exploiting high quality games across mobile, PC and console platforms.

Chris is an industry renowned financier, consultant and ex-lawyer specialising in the media and entertainment sector. A strong communicator and project leader, he’s spent nearly 20 years working with talent, money, suits and politicians, he knows which hat to wear when, how to keep people talking and to plan for the unexpected.

Chris has worked on over 100 film, TV, music and video game deals. He spent 3 years working with the Prime Minister of Mauritius, the Mauritian government and the Mauritian Board of Investment to agree a framework for the audio-visual sector in Mauritius. He was instrumental in the introduction of the Mauritius film rebate scheme.

Chris co-founded Arise Pictures in 2008 and as co-CEO was responsible for the corporate, finance and legal operations of the group, for its investor and strategic partner relationships and for producing and structuring investment into its slate of projects, most recently NOMIS (2018) starring Henry Cavill, Ben Kingsley, Alexandra Daddario and Stanley Tucci. He successfully exited Arise Pictures in 2018.

Prior to setting up Arise Pictures, Chris worked for Global Film Finance, SJ Berwin, Visionview and Element X. He began his career at Theodore Goddard. Chris graduated from Cardiff University with a BA (Hons) in History and completed his Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School
