Karan is Executive Director and Head of Digital Consumer investments at IDG Ventures India and has been investing across private and public technology companies since 2008. He serves as a Director on the board of Vserv.mobi, Ozone Media, PeelWorks, Aurus Networks, and Tripoto and also led the investments in Yatra.com, FirstCry.com, and Silverpush. He is deeply involved in working with early stage consumer Internet, mobile, and SaaS companies, as well as supporting and mentoring entrepreneurs across all technology sectors.
Prior to joining IDG Ventures India, Karan worked with QVT Finance LP, a US-based hedge fund and was a founding member of their Asia-Pacific practice. Karan earlier worked in Silicon Valley in the Technology & Media investment banking group at Jefferies & Company. He helped several emerging technology companies in capital raising, M&A and strategic partnerships. Subsequently, he was a founding member of the Jefferies India office, where he advised financing strategies for companies in the Technology, Media, Telecom, CleanTech, and Education sectors.
Karan graduated with a BBA from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan and has an MBA from INSEAD.
