Several years ago, publishers were signing dozens of deals a year with independent developers; today, many publishers have shut down or limited their third party publishing initiatives. It has become increasingly challenging to land a meaningful commitment from a top-tier publisher, and many developers are confused about what is most attractive to potential publishers.
