Players that leave their first game session with little or no satisfaction never return. Given the difficulty, and the cost, to attract new players in a crowded market, catching players’ attention within the first minutes of gameplay has become a major issue. Pascal Luban, a veteran game designer that has worked on both triple-A home consoles and casual mobile titles, will share his design strategies to build successful onboarding for mobile games targeting either casual or mainstream audiences.
