Don’t miss the Rose-Red City, Half as Old as Time…

It is with considerable regret that, in light of recent events and resulting requests, we are today announcing the postponement of this year’s outing of Pocket Gamer Connects Jordan.
We are currently exploring new dates for rescheduling the event and will communicate these as soon as we have them confirmed, however it is likely that any new date will be in 2024.

This unfortunately means that the Trip to Petra will no longer be taking place in Jordan this November.

We thank you for your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

To make your visit to PG Connects Jordan even more memorable, we’ve put together a day trip to visit one of the wonders of the world, Petra. It takes place the day after the show, Monday November 6th, so plan to be in Jordan for an extra day after Pocket Gamer Connects if you want to enjoy this incredible adventure.

The trip is very much a full day and will embark early (about 8:30am) from the Hilton Dead Sea Resort and Spa, returning in the evening (about 8:30pm). Trust us though it’ll be worth your while!

VIP Petra Trip

Petra is a truly magical site with an incredibly rich history to discover – not just the setting for Indiana Jones! – and is a must-see if you’re in the region. It’s on many people’s bucket lists and rightly so. The Nabataean capital with its famous architecture cut into the rock of the gorge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and retains its magic despite being a popular tourist attraction.

The Pocket Gamer Connects Jordan trip makes visiting Petra, and some other highlights, incredibly simple. It includes bus travel to the site, on a comfortable bus with wi-fi; stops along the way; a full walking tour of the region with a guide; and refreshments throughout the day.

The trip covers a full day, and will embark early (about 8:30 am starting from the conference venue), returning in the evening about 12 hours later. Trust us, this day-long trip will be worth your while!

The journey from the Dead Sea takes about three hours. Your ticket includes all the travel to and from the historic site, admission to the Petra site, services of a guide, plus basic refreshments. However there will be other opportunities to buy souvenirs, horse and camel rides, and other tourist elements on the day if you’re so inclined.

08:30 AM: Depart from outside the Hilton Dead Sea for the drive south
11:15 AM: Arrive at Petra visitor centre
11:30 AM: Tour inside Petra (approximately three hours)
3:00 PM: Lunch at Qantara restaurant (a few minutes’ drive away)
4:00 PM: Optional visit to Petra Cultural Village, where an esports tournament will be held (or a free hour)
5:00 PM: Return to the Dead Sea.
8:30 PM: Arrive back at Hilton Dead Sea.
(All times are subject to 15 minutes’ variation depending on circumstances, traffic and so on.)

This trip is open to all ticket-holders of PG Connects Jordan but please be aware that numbers are limited and you will need to purchase a ticket to attend. Visiting VIP ticket holders and some speakers at the conference may be eligible for a complimentary ticket; we have reserved a limited number for special guests. If you are eligible, you will receive an invitation from the organisers. Please check your messages from the PG Connects team. The rest will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so please don’t delay in registering if you are interested via the registration form below!
