Matthew currently heads up echoseven labs, a startup studio focuses on media and entertainment services.
He has spent most of his career in media and entertainment. Prior to echoseven labs, Matthew cofounded TPG/CAA backed Sleepy Giant (now called adaptiv.io) and served as CEO for over 7 years. During that time we worked with leading companies like Activision Blizzard, Disney, Ubisoft, and Zenimax, as well as top independent studios like Industrial Toys, Robot Entertainment, and SmartBomb Interactive. Prior to Sleepy Giant he helped pioneer the free-to-play business model as VP Strategic Growth at K2 Network, the first f2p MMO operator in the West. Matthew started his career on the advisory side working on over 40 transactions within the media, entertainment and technology space.
Matthew graduated from the University of Illinois and hold a BS degree in Finance. He also cherishes a summer boondoggle spent at the University of Hawai’i. He has some good stories from both experiences.
